What is BPC-157?

BPC-157, known as Body Protection Compound-157, is a synthetic peptide that originates from a natural protein present in the stomach. This peptide consists of 15 amino acids and has undergone significant research regarding its possible regenerative properties on various tissues and organs, especially in animal studies.  The compound was first synthesized in 1991 as a derivative of Body Protection Compound, a peptide that occurs naturally in human gastric secretions.  Initially, BPC-157 was studied for its ability to prevent and treat stomach ulcers, and subsequent investigations explored its potential to enhance the healing of wounds and injuries in experimental subjects.
